I'm still alive - Japan vlog and grocery haul
My first vlog in a while, where I chill in my university's dorm room and then go out for some errands in Kichijoji, Tokyo. Then there's a grocery haul featuring way too many snacks, and I show you the coolest feature of my room!
I really wanted to film more during my time in Japan, seeing as it's been almost a year already, but things were busy and didn't go quite according to plan. I still have some time left before I head home to Norway though, so hopefully I can capture some cool moments in vlogs, and also just make some good old sit-down videos where I talk about life here as an exchange student and stuff like that.
I hope you're all doing well! I know this video isn't exactly top quality but I just really wanted to push myself to get back into it. Hopefully I'll see you around next time too, and the time after that, while I try to improve and get back into things :)

It was supposed to be a day of making and eating nice food, and just enjoying some hobbies to cheer myself up ... BUT NO I ended up on a non-stop train of thoughts instead. But I guess some days just turn out like that, huh? Anyways next time I'll try to make a video that's a bit more exciting haha. Going outside and showing more than the inside of my apartment and 2 sec of outside sky and grou...

Long time no see! Sorry that it's been so long but here I am, talking a bit about the stuff that's been up since last time. The hardest part about making a video about my life in Korea, is gathering all my thoughts. It's been a real mix of good stuff and tiresome stuff and funny stuff and difficult stuff, and it's hard to sort it all out because it feels like one big experience! But I'll work o...
My Experience with a Korean Realtor (부동산) in Seoul - ThisMinah
Переглядів 3352 роки тому
Finding a place to rent in Seou, South Korea can be a bit of a challenge when you're coming here as a foreigner in the middle of a pandemic. I was lucky enough to have a korean friend to help me with the process, so we went the local route with a local realtor, and I just wanted to tell you about it :) Keep in mind that this is just one experience with one realtor. Other realtor's offices might...
Some thoughts while I spend christmas eve alone in Korea lol [Video Diary] - ThisMinah

Merry christmas! And also, I'm ok! The title sounds really depressing but I actually had some really good moments in the days before christmas, and I got to spend some time with friends on christmas eve before heading home for the endless video calls with family back home ^^ It sounds more sad than it actually was! Just before filming I had a video call with my dad and my mom, and it was a bit ...
My first time making 김치전 (kimchi pancakes)
Переглядів 492 роки тому
So this time I'm trying to make a korean 김치전(kimchi pancakes) for the first time, and it somehow turned out way better than I expected. The ingredients are cheap and easy to find, the process itself is easy and the food is just aaaaaaaah wonderful :) I used the recipe from Maangchi that you can find right here: www.maangchi.com/recipe/kimchijeon I got the idea to make this video because I saw t...

After having such a wonderful time with my first semester studying Korean at Hanyang University, the second semester didn't have the best start in the world. I filmed this video coming off a rough weekend too, and I just felt a little defeated to be honest. I hear it's healthy to express your feelings, even when they're a little unreasonable, so here we are :) I'm posting this about a week and ...
Having a chat and making food after just moving to Korea - ThisMinah

This was filmed about a week after I got out of quarantine and moved into my one-room in Seoul, South Korea. At this time I hadn't filmed or uploaded anything since before I finished quarantine, so I made a quick video just to say "hey I'm alive and things went well". But you know, this is being uploaded like 6 weeks after that, soo .... yeah. But I still wanted to upload this, as these little ...
Daiso haul after just moving to Korea - ThisMinah

We don't have Daiso in Norway at all, which is sad because I love it so so so much! It's all so cheap but the quality is still ok and there's just soooo much stuff! On my first day out of quarantine I found a place to live and moved in right away, but I still needed all the things that are not furniture. This is the first round of daiso shopping, but I ended up going back there 3 days in a row ...

Alright, we can finally end the Quarantine Diaries in South Korea. It's been a month since I got out, but life's been very busy and I only recently got into a good rythm with everything. I'm in a good place now, so hopefully that means I'll keep the uploads going ^^ I didn't actually talk much about the day itself in the video, and I spoke in a "morning voice" because I was so tired I could pro...

Going out for the last PCR test [Korean Quarantine Day 13] - ThisMinah
Переглядів 712 роки тому
Heyhey! On day 13 (or 12, depending on how you count I guess) I was told to go and get my last PCR test which is required in order to finish quarantine. It was about 50 minutes to walk to the test center, and I'll talk about the process once you're there. It's the same for both the 1 st and the 2nd test, so if you're coming to Korea and are unsure about how the test is done, I'll explain it her...

People stare at me quite often. I used to because anxious and this made them even more cruel. Then I stare back and they laugh. The best way is to notice and act like its not a big deal and disconnect from them. It's a lack of boundaries on their part. It is extremely rude and strange that they laugh at another but it says a lot about them. If it's a hostile person, protect yourself.

Well it depends on where you're going to and from 😅 taxis are very expensive but if you're coming with that much stuff by yourself, I'd consider it depending on how far you're going. If you're going to/from and airport then there's usually some sort of airport bus available with space for lots of luggage, but I don't know how comfortable your dog would be. Trains/lightrails are very convenient if you have a normal amount of luggage though, or someone to help you carry stuff.

I get that when I'm among people who are of a different race than me. I just ask "Hi, can I help you?" and if they keep staring, I say "Hello but your staring at me is making me feel uncomfortable." By then, they stop staring. I find it that if you keep paying attention to these things, something small can become something big in your head. It's best to address it and move on. It's never a good idea to argue with someone, but at the same time, if someone is being aggressive towards you or saying hurtful things, you must stand up and respond but never fight.
